Massimo leads the NTNU Brussels Office, working at the core of the European research and innovation ecosystem and engaging closely with EU institutions, platforms, and networks. With long-standing experience in Brussels, he has developed a deep understanding of how European research and innovation systems operate, supporting the strategic positioning of universities and research organisations at EU level.

Over time, he has contributed to building and coordinating a wide range of initiatives and networks, including serving as coordinator of the European Energy Research Alliance (EERA). He currently coordinates the Secretariat of the European Ocean Research and Education Alliance (EOREA) and previously served as Chair of UnILiON, further strengthening cooperation among European universities.

Through these roles, he combines strategic positioning with hands-on coordination, contributing to stronger connections between research, policy, and innovation communities.

As Chair of the Board, he brings this experience to the One Water Alliance, guiding its strategic direction and reinforcing its role within the European landscape.
